Stampin 411 Challenge 154

June 6, 2010

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I am glad to say that my family is not happily on an Alaskan Cruise for 7 whole days!  Please don’t misunderstand me though.  I love my family (my two aunts and uncles), but I’m used to living in a quiet home……and my family is LOUD… So I haven’t had as much sleep as I would like since they have been early risers (they’re from Ontario and it’s 3hrs they were adjusting) and I’ve been sleeping late..hence I turn into a bit of a cranky pants… LOL

Anywho..on with my crafting projects!  I choose Stampin’ 411 Card Sketch today:

I actually thought about this sketch for a couple of days and I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do…Then this morning I remembered that I needed a Thank You card for one of my friends 🙂  and since I’m really loving the whole vintage stamp sets……..

and so here it is! 🙂  It actually turned out better than I thought and I’m really liking it 🙂  You know how sometimes cards JUST don’t turn out the way you want it??? NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO TO IT? LOL  It took me a few tries to figure out what I wanted for the focal image… but I finally figured it out! yah!
using dimensionals really adds some …DIMENSION LOL to the card and it gives the card more life

As you can see I also embossed the background to give it more texture, as well, I daubered (used my sponge dauber and stampin’ pastels) the paper to add come color, which brings out the embossed imaged more.

I love this flower from vintage vogue stampset and use it at EVERY opportunity! lol

Materials I used:

Stamp Set: Vintage Vogue, Tiny Tags

Card Stock: Close to Cocoa (retiring in June), Whisper White, Basic Black, Bella Blue DSP (retiring in June! 😦 )

Ink Pads: Close to Cocoa (retiring in June), Pale Plum (retiring in June), Perfect Plum

Accessories: dimensionals, big shot, big shot background templates, scallop trim punch, jewelery tag punch, twine, rhinestone brad, sponge dauber, stampin’ pastel, very vanilla grosgrain ribbon.
